Public education should be education only and not a social safety-net distribution hub. It does not take a village to raise a child but it does take parents willing to put their kids future above their own priorities. That's a culture thing that needs fixed. The government is not the fix.

The strongest government in your daily life should be your local government. The weakest should be the federal. If you do not like what your local government is doing, run for office, vote the current servants out, or move.

If government spending on social programs actually worked and didn't have all the grift and waste I wouldn't mind them so much. Except for paying for gender dysphoria. Those people need to leave children alone and pay for their confusion on their own dime.
