Never went intentionally for purebred cats and Cole is as is Max but Big Boy's a mix but rare giant. Got Cole at 7 months and he got separated too early from his mom so a bit retarded when it comes to reading emotional cues from other cats, got Big Boy a week later at age 3 rescued by same group from a hoarding drug dealer and many cats were dead and caged. She liked him and was threatening them since they tricked her into signing him over so she knew us since we got Max from her originally in 2012 so she did a hard sell. She only charges $40 despite mutt or purebred and doesn't practically want a pint of blood to let you adopt. He was beautiful and rolling around so we took him. Max was a year and a half old. We had, what we didn't know, was a Turkish Van who we got in '99 at age 6 from shelter who had been abused. He lived to age 19, took tantrums and begged like a dog moving paws up and down. Got cancer but never aged. We got Cole then Big Boy in early Oct 2016, thankfully they found Cole before too late into Oct, after Sebastian our southern domestic short hair at age 16 went into renal failure which sucks to see. Got him in '01 from friend in SC whose deck he was hanging around they couldn't keep. Rusty, the Van, was depressed from Gatby's death, from a heartworm contracted in early '90's before they knew much of this in cats. Rescued a girl cat from monsters who used to live across hall and she threw her against the wall. Called animal control and we took her since they took one cat of the 7 and left the rest there. It had ingrown claw and older so euthanized😒 We took her. Andrea was a psychopath. She only lived to age 5 from ibs from stress turned to colon cancer. But those last 4 yrs were great and she worshiped us.😊
