Childless people are stuck funding public schools for a lifetime. At least people with children have the benefit of actually using the public school system for 13 years, and then continue to pay taxes for a lifetime. Kids are super expensive. It takes 10k to diaper and feed one infant. Then teens eat 3 servings in one sitting just to want to eat again in 2 hours. Sports, arts, and school trips, extra circular activities on top of a car, and insurance, plus a extra phone bill, 2k is a slap in the face .. and this is the privileged middle class kids. Forget the poor kids, they stick out with no car, and you automatically know a family is poor if their kid doesn't have a phone at age 10. What a sick society we live in. Those without kids probably don't have them because they can't afford their current life. Getting ahead in this supper jacked up economy is very hard. Credit card debt through the roof, people paying 4k a month on a mortgage and a 300 dollar energy bill... Groceries for a family adding up to 300 a week. I wonder how many families are taking out home equity loans to stay afloat hoping this gets better. I do believe having kids shouldn't be incentivized by tax credits. We really should have a individual tax credit for each person on a tax return, not just kids.
