... that used to go to aiding undocumented immigrants. I used to be more liberal on immigration but we have a lot of problems plaguing our own citizens, so we should prioritize them first. We need to decrease immigration for now, and we can increase it again once our standard of living increases back to pre-Covid, pre-2008 times.

Given how unwilling the Trump administration is to document who they are deporting, do you think that they are just cutting aid to undocumented immigrants? And don't "undocumented immigrants" make a suspiciously lovely paschal lamb to tie all of our budgetary sins to?

It's not just them. It's unnecessary bureaucratic departments, demanding foreign alliances, and middlemen as well. Standing in the way of money that could be returned to taxpaying Americans and improve our standard of living or, if not that, contributed to things like AI and space exploration, advancing America and humanity as a whole.

If DOGE is cutting employees from IT that means it's using AI or some other software to automate it. I hope that the employees laid off can find jobs in the private sector soon, but most likely they will need some AI-related skills to do so.

this is bad. i don't think DOGE should be terminated but they should definitely pay compensation and be more careful when determining what services are essential or non-essential
