yea people being persecuted based on thier race by a another group are called refugees.

Here's the text if that's too eyestraining:

From Syrians and other Muslim 'refugees' in Europe to Latins fleeing gangs here, how is it that most of them are mainly guys in the early twenties supposedly fleeing all this violence yet they're leaving their even more vulnerable family members behind? "Later, granny, I'll miss ya, sis. I'll send you a postcard."

I think I could not have said any of that better myself. I get people wanting to be resistance to someone they disagree with fundamentally, but when the person does something right, that everyone should be glad they did.. There has to be a level of self reflection that tells ones self that "hey, I disagree with just about everything this guy does.. but he got this right". That is moral courage. Something like this should easlily be common ground for both the right and the left.

I was going to post something about a positive accomplishment of a certain historical character that people view negatively, but I don't want that to be contorted into somehow me supporting him. So I'll skip it.

But it's like Monet and Manet. Two contemporary French artists with similar styles. But critics loved one of them and hated the other (I forget which was which). One day there was some big exhibition and one of the paintings by the one they hated was right next to like four or five paintings of the other. Thing is, their signatures looked rather similar given that their names are rather similar and the critics confused them, thinking the whole bunch of paintings were all by the painter that they adored, and they reviewed them all positively, including the one that was by the painter they hated.

This is how humans think. They don't. They just react the way they've programed themselves too.
