Church and state should continue to stay separated, and for very good reason. If politics and religion get into the same car to go for a spin, they'll floor the gas pedal and go so fast that they wont have time to register that they're going too fast before they inevitably crash into something.

I haven't read the book. I watched the movie back in 1984, but it was just so weird...

The new 2021 version is a lot better, trust me.
