As a former NEXRAD technician, this is the most versatile peice of measuring EQ we have.
Each of the three colors is controlled by its own processor. One day during routine maintenance we put the blue card in the red slot....holy cow the whole weather station freaked out as it booted up with images that were freakishly Doomsday WEATHER. we had to tell them to turn around and look out the window to let them understand we had made a mistake. Lol. That was fun. Signed some paper work for that one....
