that is NOT what i was arguing against. yes, people who come to the states illegally are breaking the law. yes, it's illegal for them to reside where they are not documented. but do i think he should prioritize this over the centuries of inequality that already exists and is continuing to harm people more? absolutely not. should he be taking away the rights and safety of his actual citizens? absolutely not. but he's still doing that.
It's not required or even sane for the United States to bleed itself dry because other nations don't treat their own citizens well. Those citizens can rise up and fight for what they perceive to be their rights. But they won't do that, will they?
