They kinda make things into a "how dare you be out of line" and emphasize rules instead of God loving you and you loving God in return

and trying to follow that is suffocating
especially since I do not think God loves me bc life is brutal to me

Maybe the people your around have a false view of it as well

I'm potentially coming to that conclusion
bc whenever I'm around other Christians I find I'm far less hostile to the idea
It's only when I'm home for a long period of time and cant see other Christians
which is one reason I love socializing

Christians are supposed to be kind and loving, and yk POLITELY show people the way to Jesus

There was an instance of a woman stealing the holy Eucharist (body of christ), she spat it out into a cloth to hide it so she can desecrate it, after she left the church and looked into the cloth, the little piece of bread then turned into a piece of ACTUAL human flesh. (She then converted to Catholicism)

i think it would create inherent meaning in human lives if there was a God, but i think the suffering that the world has faced is way too extreme to be justified by "God works in mysterious ways" and there's also inconsistencies in how back in ancient times when Jesus was still alive some people would technically be sent to hell if they died before they even would have a chance to learn about God, which is not something I think a Christian God would ever allow

I'm pretty sure anyone who actually followed God went to heaven even if they never heard of Jesus specifically. The reason the Pharisees were out of line is because they recognized who Jesus was but hated Him because they themselves weren't following God and were using the synagogue to control the culture, and Jesus was a threat to that control.
It is a confusing situation though

But we have people like Abraham and Job, who God called specifically while they were in ungodly cultures.

But yeah I feel you on things being too harsh to be explained away by "God works in mysterious ways"
I definitely think the devil causes that directly but it's confusing
