Anyway here's the character lore
She was given enhancements and an inhibitor chip by a corporation which wanted to use her as a weapon.
The enhancements basically give every improvement that could make a pilot more effective in combat. Improved reflexes, better hand-eye coordination, even a heads up display built directly into their eyes as well as a direct neural connection to the mech they pilot of it has support for that feature. Basically think of it as neuralink on steroids.
The inhibitor chip keeps these enhanced pilots under the corporation's control, turning off half of their brain and effectively making them slaves to the corporation.
However after the inhibitor chip was removed by a captured rebel engineer who tricked her into letting him "upgrade" her augmentation, she regained her free will, then after sneaking the engineer some tools to break free she laid low until she got a chance to escape with the Dashing Lance.
Not without destroying several fleets of corporate mechs and the warship she was transported in, of course.
(Update: considering changing it so the chip was damaged to some degree which lead to her listening to the rebel engineer who convinces her to join the rebellion, then after she joins them the chip is fully removed)
Coincidentally the ship she was sent to attack was the exact one the engineer works on, so after being let into the hangar with some hesitation she was able to gain some credibility even just by knowing his name.
After that, we quickly see why it was so important that augmented pilots have inhibitor chips.
Just one rogue pilot IMMEDIATELY turned the tide of the war, and the fact that she had an upgraded corporate mech didn't help the corporation much either.
Until now the rebellion was just able to hold their own against the corporation because they had better engineers who could make a near corporate level machine with far lower budget materials
But a corporate machine with rebel engineers? That's a recipe for disaster. Well, depending on if you're on the receiving end of its might.
