The learning curve

Those days are over for me, but I was once given this advice by an old man, and it worked well for me. He told me this "boy never marry a woman you can live with, find the one you can't live without."

I asked my wife out three times before she said yes. After the 3 failed attempts I found out where her mother worked, kept going there, always tipped well and one day I asked her about her family, once she figured out her daughter and I went to the same school I told her that I has asked her out, but she always said no. Well mom talked her into giving me a shot and we have been happy ever since.

Turns out the old man was right, never give up, find the one and don't take no for an answer.

So glad that it worked out well for you and your wife. Pretty slick to work through a mother (who turned out to be your future mother-in-law). I wish everyone could meet their special someone but unfortunately, it does not always happen.

I wish it did happen more, but I suspect there are more stresses now than when we met. We never had friends question our choices, try and find some tidbit online to spew hate, have to pick between who job would cost us to move. You get the idea; it is very hard nowadays to get past the drama. In my case we both came from strong families and saw this as a lifelong commitment, no matter what came at us. I think to many couples consider marriages as temporary.
