There's a rule in my county that has students do a similar thing, but it's much less jerkonian. We can still take them out if the teacher's ok with it, and during free time

so on top of not being allowed to have my phone out according to our teachers the bill that the state of north carolina it is mandatory to remove our ability to listen to our own music and saying "Teachers can download spotify and play 'School Friendly' music on their laptops for the class to enjoy" and my god i have never wanted to punch a state offical so hard in my life and they're reasoning is that kids are on their phones too much during school and my argument is Look at the grades of kids who get caught on their phone all the time and look at the grades of someone who has their phone face down on the desk while listening to music the difference is amazing
