I think it's really funny that Meowth (the Scratch Cat Pokemon) is one of the only Pokemon capable of human speech because he's basically a bipedal cat; an animal which domesticated itself by modeling it's meows off of a human baby's cries so that we'd take them in, AND are STILL able to learn how to replicate human words through warbling, caterwauling, and yowling. they can even learn to respond to said words and learn an active/appropriate response

TLDR: Meowth being a cat is funny because cats are furry parrots
