To look at Joe Biden's entire career and ambitions for the office, it is absolutely remarkable that he ever became POTUS.

Especially, considering how he had to drop out of the race in 1988 for making sh*t up on the fly in a conversation embellishing his own academic acuity, and the fact of bragging that he "graduated at the top of his class" at Syracuse when it can be verified otherwise, and that he is found to be a plagiarist.

Usually, that will disqualify one not only in 1988, yet most political careers are over at that point. Biden wasn't necessarily powerful, yet whomever wanted him to continue a political career as a controllable front man sure looks like they might be.
