Per news following his speech, there is more than enough food grown in the USA to feed us, but not enough market to sell all that can be grown...which is why farmers rely on USAID to get paid for their crops that are sent to other countries. He also told a reporter once "groceries...who uses that word?"

In other words, Trump is telling farmers to expect a major pay cut. And a lot of farms will fail because of it.

Trump screwed the farmers during his first term and had to give them some socialism to keep them from losing their farms, although a lot did lose their farms. Will be interesting to watch this play out.
