Okay, here's the thing- Hamas crossed over into Israel, killed mothers and fathers, children (including babies) and youths. They had no reason to kill innocents except that they were easy targets. Then they took a bunch hostage, killed most of them, and are finally letting some of them go. These hostages state that they were held in homes of Gazan citizens, which makes those civilians complicit. Hamas hid their munitions and missiles in hospitals, schools, and residential areas; so that when Israel came bombing civilians were killed. But to call them innocent civilians is impossible. They were all complicit in Hamas terrorism. Certainly Israel killed babies, and the mothers knew their children were at risk, but considered them "martyrs". Watching the Gaza crowd cheer the coffins of those two little brothers last week, with youth cheering along with their bloodthirsty parents, leaves anyone with a bit of sense to realize that this entire population is living in the grasp of a 6th century, tribal religion that has no place in a civilized world. Your worry about killing babies brings to mind the term nits make lice, which is cruel but certainly fitting in this instance.
Either Islam reforms itself to the point of being a part of civilization, or it will have to be exterminated. Bloodthirst? Yes, but survival wins out.
