Tf you mean nobody else sees it? People have been crying about it being the end times forever, and for the last several hundred years they haven't shut up about it.

i mean i said "soft apocalypse" and everyone around me was like "huh?" and then i explained it and they went "i mean..thats a bit dramatic"

the worst part of being the generation thats supposed to "find the solutions" is half the problems wouldn't exist if people took teenagers seriously and thought "hm, maybe a couple billion dollars isn't worth keeping if we don't have a planet..." but yknow...

Agreed, emphasis on the "greed". Evolutionary pressure has naturally selected for traits that were beneficial up through the neolithic era, and have been increasingly detrimental ever since. Namely our hard-wired drive to be self-centered, short sighted and insatiably greedy.

The irony is how many people use the Bible to rationalize wiping their ass with the planet, because God gave it to us to dispose of as we see fit, and because no matter how badly we despoil the planet, the world won't end until God decides it's time. Swell. We turn the Earth into a toxic landfill and wash our hands of it as we choke and drown in our own effluent, so smug in the knowledge that it's the path we were meant for.

Maybe it is. But when it finally finishes going to shit, it'll be because humanity pushed the flusher, not the Almighty.

but yeah, i agree. i'm not religious, but if there is a god, i think a lot of people WILL be going to hell despite their religious affiliations for that exact reason, comple and unfettered greed. a greed that forces economic, societal, and environmental issues onto a new generation every year, promising a world of possibilities for them to find the answers to the problems, only for them all to be blocked for the sake of pocket lining

a greed that makes people with extreme wealth from generations prior buy their children into positions of power to continue hoarding their success, rather than using it to help clear our debt to the world or fund anything other than themselves.

a greed that allows dangerous weapons of mass destruction to be brought into the heart of our children, preventing their growth and turning them to piles of blood and meat without consciousness as steel pelts into their body and rips the soul from them without mercy.

a greed that built the country and will be its heat death.
