I'd love to see what intellectualism he's talking about because all I tend to see in this modern era are people who perpetually give wrong answers with a smug sense of accomplishment and completely underserved sense of self-importance..

and of course thats assuming they actually GIVE a wrong answer, as opposed to the usual anger and passive-aggressiveness to the audacity of being expected to define the words they're using or the thing they're talking about..

People ARE interested in ideas.... but the ideas have to be coherent and not have instantly glaring flaws that make the whole thing unworkable...and thats where intellectualism seems to fail these days.

Well it was the educator(s) who created the department of education, the school system, the curriculum...and everything got far worse progressively since that very inception

If this is where intellectualism begins and its intellectuals that created this mess, which is now creating a population that is apparently anti-intellectual, then it stands to reason the intellectuals can't possibly know what they're talking about in the grand scheme of things.

But PKD used to experiment with LSD tripping in order to expand his mind and was considered inside the SF industry just a few brain cells shy of being a mental fried egg.

This is really far off the mark. Do some research.

I did do my research before people new to Sci-Fi adopted him as their intellectual guru. But then again I'm older than dirt and read science fiction BEFORE it was considered cool.
