How much of a house does one actually “need”? In Japan there are pods that people sleep in, or apartments just large enough for a bed and closet while people are out in the community all day.

Any Society that doesn't take care of its elderly and disabled should fail. Its one thing to ensure abled bodied people work for their lot, but to expect people that are disabled to care for their selves is beyond heartless and tells me that your selfishness falls on the same side as a leftist - Any society should have saftey nets for people that need help, not abuse the system , there should be homes and medical facilities that care for disabled.

You misunderstand the point of my meme. It is that people should be responsible enough to care for their own children and requite their elderly by taking care of them instead of shifting the burden to everyone else. It’s the same principle as requiring people to pay their own student loans instead of making society pay them. When it comes to the disabled there can be help for them, but private charity will do a much better job than a government-run safety net.

The amount of people that depend on things like Medicaid would stagger you, private charities do not have the resources to help all the people that need it. Real people, not people gaming the system. I have a sister with Downs, and I haev a brother that destroyed his life with Booze, The meds alone for my sister would break me if I had to pay for them out of pocket, You have to realize the gravity of taking away those safety nets like medicaid and medicare.
