Pay an American enough money to turn down a job? How much are they giving out in the South then? Because basically the most places, Welfare can't even cover half a month's rent. And that's going back to when rents actually used to be cheap in other states.
When I got a studio in 1992 in the Bronx (a cheap one too), I could have rented an entire house in Florida for $50 less. I know, somebody sent me a bunch of classifieds for Fort Lauderdale.
