Its worth mentioning that the EU buys significant amounts of oil and gas from Russia, they just do it through a 3rd party
The rates of purchase of imports/exports pretty much always remain the same across the globe regardless of situation, the only real change is that a 3rd, 4th or even 5th party get added to the chain of custody for the sake of optics....who also take their cut and massively drive up the costs for the end user.
In a nutshell : The EU buys the same amount of oil from russia at is always has, they just pay more now
