This is me speaking as a bisexual 17-year-old: I was raised in a conservative and Christian family and still am. It's more of a Christian-based issue, but I was taught that being anything other than straight was a sin that I would be sent to hell for. I've probably known since elementary school that I wasn't 100% straight. As I got older, I eventually figured out that I wasn't a horrible person for being bisexual after seeing positivity towards it on the internet. I have always been in private and Christian schooling so I've never had anyone personally "convince" me to be bi.

I had a suicide attempt when I was younger and if I wasn't told that it's okay to be who I am, I might not be here. Telling kids it's okay to not be straight is perfectly fine. Nobody is telling kids they have to be gay, there's just a more positive view towards it than previously.

Totally fine for you to disagree, MMM, and totally fine to be YOU. But this meme is not addressing gay marriage or not accepting bisexual people. It is about indoctrinating our children with the 'in your face' agenda in many schools today.

I have loved children ever since I can remember & as a female, I feel very protective of them and of their innocence. I know how susceptible our young are to suggestion and our kids are being influenced by these so called "educators" today.

This vulnerable population should not be exposed to attempts to indoctrinate them....that is the focus of the meme. Kindergartners & elementary students are not ready to take on subjects that they are too young to understand and confusing them is not a viable path, IMO.

What do you mean by "in your face"? I don't go to public school but I have a friend who goes to a public high school and they never even talk about it. The teachers have no involvement, but students are allowed to create their own clubs and support groups if they want to. My school is a private school so I can't say too much, but we've only ever been told about creation and Christianity. We have never even looked at an evolutionist standpoint. If anything, I feel like that is indoctrination.

I think that sex education should be taught around middle school age and that they shouldn't just be told, "Sex is bad so don't do it", but they should be taught how to be safe about it.

I think younger kids don't really need to know about sex education, but if they can read books about straight couples, they can read books about gay couples. Obviously, they shouldn't be detailed descriptions about sex or personal details, but just telling them that some people are gay.

I'm fine if people want to be Christian, I just don't want to because it tells me that I'm sinning because I'm not straight. I also just don't see a lot of evidence for Christianity.

I don't think atheists or Christians can come up with a definitive "gotcha" for the other side so we just have to respect the other side until we can find more proof (for either side)

I don't believe it is possible to change at all. Sexuality is not changeable or a decision for someone.

Well, being gay is apart of our sin nature. Sin entered the world from Adam and Eve. But if we place our faith in god we will overcome that. There was this old man in my church who got baptized, and he said after he became a Christian he started to overcome his lesbian type. He said it in front of everyone too before he got baptized

Well part of becoming a Christian is becoming humble and accepting Jesus as your Lord. And that comes with admitting homosexuality is a sin. There is proof out there, maybe you can just look up arguments or sermons and see what you think

I have. I don't see why consensual relationships are a problem with god. It doesn't make sense that same-sex attraction is a sin, even if you only think about it.

There are some people who are bisexual and it majorly shifts over time. They are still always bisexual, but sometimes lean more straight or gay.

It's because that wasn't how he made us, and he said that same sex attraction was a sin. So if we think it isnt, that's pretty prideful in saying we know better than God.
