Why would someone oppose the idea of it?

People who are bad at their job won’t get fired. All they’d have to do is identify as something and claim they are being treated unfairly

That's like saying we shouldn't have laws against racial discrimination because a black person might apply for a job and get rejected and claim discrimination.

Your logic doesn't make sense since it doesn't make sense to ignore a large amount of people just because a small amount of people will abuse it.
