It's the Russian space shuttle Buran, built in the 1980s. The Russians were able to design it by copying the design of NASA's space shuttle (we made it easy for them by publishing a lot of photographs and literature and blueprints). Sadly, it only flew once. It was an automated flight with no crew aboard. That flight was on November 15, 1988. The flight lasted for.three hours and 26 minutes, during which it made two orbits before landing on a runway.
The reason it only flew once is because the Soviet Union collapsed and the Buran program was cancelled in 1993. It gets worse. The only Buran ever built was destroyed in 2002 when the storage hangar collapsed on top of it.
