I say char uh because ch makes CHA then the r is r so Char and the ra is Uh. So I say char uh

Personally, I pronounce the “cha” in “chara” the same way I pronounce the honorific “Chan.” Anything else feels weird to my mind, because my inner monologue is either in a thick Texan or a feminine Kansai accent most of the time.
