It's Christmas Eve and Data is just walking around in her room, bored.
Suddenly Sap calls her
Data: *answers* hai :3
Sap: Hey! Do you want to... go out for dinner tonight? You know... to celebrate our anniversary!
Data: Sure! Where to?

After a bit of thinking silence.

Sap: Alright! How about Golden Restaurant? I heard it's quite welcoming!
*His voice is a bit shaky*
Data: sounds good! I'll wear that one dress.
Sap: Alright! See you there at 9:00pm!
*He ends the call*

*After a few hours, they meet up outside the restaurant*
Sap: Oh hey!
Data: Hi! *She said while giving a soft smile*

*Sap hands her his arm, so they can walk together inside*
Sap: How was the day?
Data: it was a little boring until you called *she holds him by the arm* I almost forgot we met around Christmas time :/

Sap: It was pretty boring also for me *nervous laugh* …
*5 hours before*
Sap can be heard mumbling and talking to someone, yet he's alone and simply talking to a mirror.
Liam passes by and knocks on the door “The f**k you rumblin about?”
Sap: w-wh- Hey! Leave me alone!!!
Liam then walks away while Sap continues to talk with himself and seems to be planning something.
*Back to the present*

Sap: Anyways, let's go!
They walk inside, Sap asks for the table he booked and they go sit at it.
It's a nice restaurant, not too many people, nice red walls with golden decorations, certainly a place where mostly rich people dine.

Data: good thing I wore my dress, this place is SUPER fancy. *Looking around, mesmerised*
Sap: Yeah *tiny blush* It really suits you!
*A waiter comes by and gives them the menu*
Sap: And I wore that suit you gave me ^^
Data: your suit suits you too ^^

After a bit of awkward silence.
Sap: *not knowing what to say, mostly because of his nervousness* uhh let's see what they offer here!
*He looks at the menu*
Data: hmm…

Then, Sap remembers something rather important.

Sap: Uhhh, you'll use your... creepy mouth? I kinda forgot... again that you can't really eat…. *He looks down*
Data takes her eyes off the menu.
“oh I'm actually brainstorming a design for a less creepy one, it'll probably be ready to use once our food gets here”.

Sap: *already regretting asking her out to eat* Uhhh... I'm gonna have the roast chicken, I never tried it, must be good!
Data: I... guess I'll do the same? I barely ever eat, the mouth mainly gets used to scare people.
Sap: Yeah... Sorry i forgot about that...

*The waiter comes by and they tell him about the order*
Sap: Anything to drink-? Oh uh... Do you even drink…

Data: ... water?

Sap: I guess... *Regretting ever asking that question* Just some water please
Waiter: Alright, we'll serve you as soon as possible.

*The waiter grabs their menu and walks away*
Data: ... Sorry. I should've mentioned the mouth thing when you called earlier
Sap: I should have thought about it... *As if he didn't spend hours planning something*

Data: It's fine, I'm almost done designing a normal mouth. Since I'm nanotech I can just morph my head a bit and instantly be ready to use it.

Sap: oh! Well then! *Awkward silence* Well, I was thinking about something…
Technology has come so far... Just look at us, we are sentient artificial beings! And there's lots of us in the entire universe!

Data: yeah, it's honestly pretty cool! I actually think the majority of my family is all robots
Sap: Like how does an artificial sentience even work?? I barely understand it, and I am one!

Some of the people in the other tables comment on Data and Sap, talking about how weird they look.

Data: in my case it was actually a glitch, I was never meant to be sentient but when Collector found out, he thought it was cool and refined it so it became a feature.
Sap: I'm pretty sure I was the first sentient AI- wait you were an accident?

Data: Initially, yes. I was built for server maintenance but then there was some incident with hackers and something got messed up in my head. My memory of that time period is pretty fuzzy, I don't know why…

*The waiter comes with the food*
Sap: Oh!
Data: perfect timing, I just finished the new mouth. *Her head morphs a bit*

The waiter gives Sap and Data their plates and puts a large glass bottle of water.
Sap: Maybe some wine would have been better…
Data: are we even affected by alcohol? I mean I did get drunk once but that was with some software I downloaded, I don't know if the real stuff works.

Sap: Yeah... I don't think alcohol has any effects on us...

Do we wanna start eating?
Data: Sure! :3
*When she takes a bite, the bottom of her screen just hinges out slightly so she can put the food in, it's a lot more subtle than the previous design*

*Sap also notices she added a small tube connecting her head to her body*

Sap is a bit surprised, but in a good way.
*He just eats, the matter gets transmuted into digital code after he swallows it*
*The food that Data eats in the other hand, just sits there inside her, once she's done it'll get compressed into a cube like in WALL-E*

While they were eating, some people started raising their voice because of some argument. It quickly escalated into violence, though one of them was immediately knocked out by a guard of the restaurant.
Sap and Data looked at the guard dragging the knocked out man, and also the other guy that argued.

They finished eating, and Sap seemed quite nervous.
Data: That was really good! *Her screen displayed a soft smile*

Sap: Yeah it was!

*the waiter comes*
Waiter: Anything else?
Sap: No no *he looks at Data, then whispers something to the waiter*
*The waiter nods and walks away*

Sap: Hey Data, come
*He stands up, and walks to a large window in the restaurant, looking onto a beautiful landscape: a large valley with a forest passing through it.*
Data: Woah…

Sap plays with his hands a bit.
Data: mmh? What are you doing?

Sap: Just thinking...
*He shakes a bit*
Emotions are such a complex thing... But they're not hard to understand…
Data: hmm… *she looks out the window*

A tear drops down Sap's face as he falls to his knees, sobbing a bit.
Data rushes to him, kneeling down.
Data: Sap! Are you ok?

He continues to sob a bit before speaking.
Sap: You k-know…
Data: …?

Sap: M-Many people think that beings like u-us are unable to feel love…
…That we are emotionless machines that just feel the illusion of love…

*He looks at up her*
*While he lifts his hand, a little box with a ring in it appears out of a wireframe hologram*
Sap: Do you want to help me prove them wrong?

Data: *absolutely shocked, even stepping back a little, before responding*
YES!!!
*She rushes at him and hugs him extremely tightly*
Sap: *Sobbing a bit, he hugs her even tighter*

Data: How'd I not see this coming! We first met around Christmas time, I should've known the moment you called about dinner!
Sap: Hehe... I thought it was about time…

*People in the restaurant were divided in the rich mfs who looked with disgust and actually nice people who cheered*

After some tight hugging and Sap giving her the ring, he calls the waiter for the bill.
After paying for it, they walk out of the restaurant. It's a nice night outside, a full moon… truly a rare occasion…

Data: honestly I was considering being the one to propose, that would've been a bit weird though
Sap: *gives her a small kiss* Well, fortunately I got the courage to finally ask! *Gives her another kiss*

Sap opens a glitchy portal to Collector's house, where Data lives, and they enter.
*Ooo screen fading to black since this is the end of story oooo*
Sap: Hey! Guess what!!
Random voices: Huh?? No way!!
*There's more chatter, surprised, happy… and like that… a night ends with the best possible outcome…*
