No, I don't take Elton John seriously at all. And I doubt his take on mj will matter to anyone who does, or might do, mj. It just doesn't work that way. But, I wouldn't wish any addiction on anyone.
I was in a wheelchair for a year due to multiple sclerosis (do you know what that is?). The nerves in my legs weren't working correctly. I couldn't lift my right leg. I did take medical mj and it helped tremendously. I was able to get rid of the wheelchair. Mj can be taken without getting stoned. People who use drugs to alter their reality are not going to listen to Elton John's opinions. And, yes, his recent talks with the press were to get people to watch the documentary about his addictions. Not everyone who drinks or smokes mj is an addict.
