Community Health Centers exist for the uninsured and the underinsured, but you have to find them. They work on a sliding fee scale depending on how much you earn. Then, if you get a catastrophic illness there's Medicaid: but that's only after you run through all your money down to about $2000. There is no free cake.

In socialist countries, the government run medical system have got death panels.

When you say "socialist countries" are talking about actual socialist countries like Venezuela and Cuba? Or are you just inaccuratly calling countries like Denmark "socialist" just because they have universal healthcare which isn't the same thing as socialism? Not only are European countries like Denmark free market capitalist economies but universal healthcare also has both private and government healthcare providers and also government and private health insurance so it's not actually as "socialist" as you think. Canada is unfortunately euthanizing people in the name of "cutting costs" but that's not really a thing in European healthcare systems for European systems are much more better run.
