Yeah, me, too. The first season held my interest but the second is just kind of creepy. I think that's what bothers me...there's no sense of hope like in the other story lines.

yeah, i did enjoy the first season

and yeah, that's fair, not everyone likes creepy

but i think it's creepy is that it's leading up to sauron, and the first time he got defeated

I like creepy and horror sometimes. But there are several films (like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings) that are all about hope and good winning over evil. The series was so drawn out on sorrow, anger, betrayal, and a few little people making all kinds of mistakes & constantly escaping death. Ack! There was no hope...only drawn out storylines to keep us loyal ones coming back to find out what happens next. Only there was no "next"... it was the same drama over and over again.

Yeah, it was great! But they didn't confirm if Gandalf told Thorin. Or maybe Thorin died before Gandalf could tell him?

Gandalf was at the bottom of the dwarf entrance and yelled up at him for not being a very kingly. Was that their only interaction until Thorin died?!

How interesting, considering all they plotted together to get there and for Gandalf to have such important news, you'd think they would have interacted more in that part of the story. I haven't read the books. Is that true to the books? If so, I wonder why Tolkien would have written it as such. It's really interesting if you think about it for a few minutes.

i too have never read the book (yes, there was only one hobbit book, with 3 hobbit movies)

but from what i can tell (from people who have read the book) is that a lot of the hobbit movie stories, aren't true to the books
