If a regular everyday person had been charged with the crimes Hunter had done. That person would've been in prison a long time ago

The issue that many Democrat supporters have with Biden is not the pardoning itself, it's the extreme hypocrisy and blaming a corrupt DOJ for it. If Biden would've just said "I'm pardoning my son" most everyone would understand that as no loving father would want his son to go to prison. By Biden blaming the DOJ as corrupt and politically motivated, admitting his own DOJ is corrupt and by pardoning Hunter from every crime possible, not just the 2 charges he was convicted for, but all possible crimes all the way back to 2014, which would cover all the crimes related to Burisma in Ukraine, he's basically admitting to the public that Biden was aware and complicit in all of the corruption Hunter is accused of.

Nonetheless, in reality, I didn't necessarily care if he got pardoned or not. The two-party system can use the DOJ to witch-hunt independents all they want, but it's not wasting anyone's time but theirs.

But then again, Trump's de facto taking over the DOJ come January, the GOP won everything.
