This may come as a shock to you, but not everything is specifically about you. I realize that this is very hard for most conservatives, but the facts are the facts.

So why are more children coming out as trans than adults?

For the same reason more children come out as gay than adults- we've made a space in society so they can be taken seriously.

Wouldn't it stand to reason that gay and trans adults would feel empowered to come out?

I suggest that you spend some time looking into the self-harm and suicide rates of LGBTQIA+ population so you can come to an understanding on why there are so few older LGBTQIA+ people.

does "gender affirming care" reduce that rate?

Imagine that 146,300 kids had broken legs. Then they didn't have access to healthcare to fix that leg.

Then ask your "is that bad" question to yourself and see what answer you get from yourself.

Casts fix something that's broken. "Gender affirming care" alters a body that is functioning exactly the way it's supposed to.

Let's approach this with a question so maybe you can begin your journey to understanding that trans people go through.

Let's say we live in the future. But you're in a terrible car accident. You're going to die because your body is failing. However, because this is the future they can transfer your brain to a robot body. You'll be alive, but in a robot body. That robot body is a Star Wars R2D2 looking thing. It bears absolutely no resemblance the the human body at all.

There is no possibility of a human shaped body. There is only the non-human shaped bodies.

Now, you exit the hospital, fully transferred to your new robot body. Now, you're applying for a job or whatever, and you have to fill out a form. Part of that form is a gender question.

What gender do you select?

I'm guessing you're leading into the "trans brain" argument. The problem is, even if it were possible for someone to have a male body and a "female brain", it wouldn't explain why some end up de-transitioning, never mind the fact that no one performs brain MRIs to verify if someone is trans.
