It comes and goes, this concern the Federal government evinces in the health and welfare of military veterans. It depends upon era and the party in power -- and how much of that power they hold.
Perhaps worse of all it varies from region to region. You might receive your earned care in one region of the nation while treated like liberals did to returning veterans during the 1960s and get spat upon in a different region. You just never know.
As a veteran receiving vital services for the last couple of years I can say that in my region of the nation (Texas) I am treated well and with attendant dignity and respect. I wouldn't like to vouch for what I might encounter in -- say -- California, however.
