From both a general personality standpoint and his grasp of astrophysics, I like the man. It's just that he sometimes lets his toxic leftist ideology conditioning supplant actual science; and that's just wrong.

But to be fair to Tyson, if he hadn't embraced this ideology then the Political Left -- which controls the key media outlets -- would never have allowed him to use their information vehicles to rise to the top of the info-tainment section of 'science'.

I think it's his required periodic homage to his masters -- the leftist movers and shakers that allowed him to rise to the top of the 'science' infotainment field. Every once in a while he has to toss them an ideological bone or risk having to return to the research lab and do boring old skull busting stuff like chase mathematical equations with a number two pencil.
