Has Anyone Ever Read The Holy Books All The Way Through Or Does EVERYBODY Just Hunt And Peck For Justification?

What is your favorite book in the bible? Who is your favorite character in the Old Testament?

I struggle with the bible. I like the story of Noah. I love the Watchers. He speaks to me because of the animals but I'm not sure I'd want to meet him. He was a murderer. Seems like they lifted up murderers and rapists and condemned women just like they're doing now. It's hard to believe it's true since King James rewrote it.

I want to believe the bible. I even named my sons Joshua and Matthew. It's just ... the stories are twisted by men to keep women subservient so I can't say I like any story from the King James bible.

Have you tried the NIV translation? The New International Version? And, just food for thought, not an aggressive criticism...can you make fair decisions on Christianity without knowing the bible? The King James version is soooo old in verbiage that very few people really reads it: too many "thee" and "thou"

Any translation of King James version of the original Bible would be corrupted since he rewrote it to suit himself. But even more than that, to me ... it's a book about a male god that used a woman to give birth to a man that other men added their stories to or completely rewrote ... to keep women and minorities in their place. The book is full of murderers, rapists, tyrants and superstitious nonsense that only glorifies men...not God.

It's a book about perversion and glorifies the patriarchy. I'm just not of the opinion that God hates women as much as some religious men do... and always have, apparently.

And it's a plagiarized story.
