for the economy, yes. For the 1%, yes. For a lot of other people? no. And yeah, the US has the largest economy (selling stuff to the brits during ww2 probably helped), but it isnt the WHOLE world. Even western nations like us in Aus would survive (we sell a LOT of stuff to china)

I'm just a bit of authleft. Like there should be some cognitive requirements to vote, like IMO an IQ of 120 or a percentile of 75% (Idr if those are equivalent, just spitballing) should be mandatory to vote. Like people with high IQ tend to wish to be actually better informed and hold less prejudices, so I think putting a minimum IQ to vote should be mandatory. I have pretty nietzschean and platonic ideas about democracy, but I still like the left ideas of "don't genocide queer folks" and "people shouldn't be so rich so that the top 1% owns 60% of stuff"

Yeah, kind of. I genuinely find it awful that people that tend to trust emotions over logic have a vote, and this is the best way of taking care of that problem. It still isn't perfect though, as over time IQ tests and shit like that'd get politicized.
