My thoughts on the furry fandom have not changed, but I can't attack furries anymore.

My views on the furry fandom have not changed; it ruins people's lives. I have seen it over and over again, and I have yet to see a story where the furry fandom has helped someone.

However, I can't fight for it anymore. I just don't have time for it; I also can't attack furries anymore. Just because it seems useless, and doesn't actually do anything besides make them depressed.

It actually helped me, so...

How? I've never seen, or thought of a way that the furry fandom could help anyone.

It gave me a community in which I could explore myself and truly come to terms with my identity.

Huh, never seen that before. Almost every furry I meet tells me that the source of their problems stems from being a furry.

They do less school, they get assaulted online by both furries & anti-furries, they lose their motivation to grow up, and when they do eventually have to grow up it is extremely hard for them.

For me, it's the exact opposite. It helps me grow up because I can try out things that would be considered too mature for other circles. Also, as I said, self-exploration. It helped me become familiar with diversity, to find that I may not be entirely what society wants me to be. It's everything but normal, and I love that.

Self exploration is something that I have known that the furry fandom does actually help with for a while, but the problem I have with the fandom. Isn't that it doesn't allow you to grow up.

It's that it encourages you not to grow up. My furry friends have told me that they act like they're 12 even when they can reach up to 18-20 years old. Consequently, they don't have a job, and feel like they failed everyone. Eventually ending up with suicidal thoughts.

This is why I hate the furry fandom. It hurts the user.

DISCLAIMER: You might have totally different experiences, and that's fine. I know & accept that some people are helped by the furry fandom. However, I have seen too many problems with the furry fandom to turn my head around and support it.

Completely valid point of concern. I think it's different for me because I'm (maybe a bit extreme) extremely self-conscious about how people see me and basically always try to act and behave 5 years older.
Which has worked surprisingly well.
