So you see, Russia was only communist for 70 years out of the over 800 years of its existence

You're welcome! I really enjoy history and have studied a lot of it, and I'm always glad to provide info to others. I get why you thought of Russia as being fully communist, since the most well-known form of Russia is the USSR

In 1917, there was an anti-Tsar revolution. The Tsar agreed to abdicate and give up the throne just to please the people. However, soon the communist Bolsheviks came to power. They started the Russian Civil War, fought between the communists and the supporters of the Tsar. The Reds killed the Tsar and his entire family, and wiped out whole cities of anti-communists. In the end, the Tsarist White Army was forced to emigrate from Russia, leaving the communists to take over.

WW1 was going on during the revolution and civil war. First, Lenin was their leader, then after he died Stalin gained power and WW2 happened after that

Well, the Red Army had millions of soldiers in it, while the White Army never even had 1 million. This huge imbalance played a huge role in the defeat of the Tsarist forces. Also, the communists controlled the major industrial areas like Moscow, so they could produce more.

As for stopping communism, it was pretty simple. Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the USSR, was the only Soviet leader who I actually liked. He let the republics vote whether they wanted to remain communist or gain independence. All the republics chose to be free, and the USSR collapsed.

Also, fun fact: Russia wasn't the last republic to leave the USSR, it was actually Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan was the entire USSR for a few days actually

wow im glad he let the people decide the fate of russia but yeah its sad that HUGE ROLE of history was that civil war which led to russia being communist during ww1 and didnt teach us that since it has a huge importance on russias history
