besides, the two times we've seen him and via, it does show that he loves her, and wants the best for her

That doesnt excuse him neglecting her. And throughout the show we have seen he cares more about spending time with Blitzo than with Via. And episode 2 is where he was at his worst. He borderline talked innapropriately around her, took her to Loo Loo Land despite her not liking the place anymore and when arriving there all Stolas was doing was flirting with Blitzo and being mega horny. And him calling for I.M.P's help as bodyguards was just an excuse so he could be horny for Blitz since Stolas, as an ars goetia, is extremely powerful and thus was never in danger.

Nah, Stolas is worse. He is extremely narcissistic and puts all the blame on Blitzo. Not to mention he is a bad father who cares so much about Blitzo that he doesnt see he is neglecting Octavia.

Stolas should focus more on spending time with Octavia than marrying a guy he was in a toxic relationship that HE started. Remember, the relationship was based on transactions, and Stolas started it. And again, spending time with his daughter is more important than simping on a guy he got in a toxic relationship.

Never said it was all his fault. But he is far from innocent. And what bothers me most is how people refuse to sympathize with Octavia since she has been neglected by her father who is more desperate with being with an imp he got in an abusive relationship than spending time with his daughter. Not to mention said imp has been shown to be a better father than Stolas.

Honestly, true. I so far only began season 2, but for Stolas to be in an verbally and physically abusive relationship for roughly 18 years, I think a part of him just wants to rub it in his ex’s face. As for his relationship with his daughter, he got too caught up in his ex, but I think they have a good relationship given the situation and Stolas did learn his lesson when he talked to her at Loo Loo Land. And when the whole Star episode came out, he forgot about the whole thing getting his ex’s stuff out of the house, and his daughter who very much a teenager was excited for it like a little kid. Though he could’ve put more care into remembering that day, I think his mind was elsewhere regardless of his relationship with his daughter or not. I’d say both of them are struggling fathers, but you can see they’re doing their best
