Its called a grammatical error, "Her" would have been the correct word to use, since he is talking about 1 individual.. see, when referring to one person you never use they or them.

We’ve been using singular they for over a century at this point…

they is a plural , it should not be used when referring to a single person. He/she/him/her are proper when descibing a single individual.

"They" has been used for decades to describe individuals whose gender is ambiguous. It's not always plural.

People who refer to their selves as "they" are mentally ill.

How is using they pronouns a delusion?

How I actually felt after making the comment ->

someone thinking he or she are someone he or she is not, is a delusion.

But they are that thing. Maybe it doesn't show physically, but if the definition of the term is purely based on what they feel like, and they feel like it, that's not a delusion. I don't get how this is hard to understand.

It isn't.

How someone "feels" is not what they are , they are what they are. If you feel like a bird , you are going to kill yourself when you try to fly off the roof. I don't understand why this is so hard to understand. There is a reason these people have a 50% suicide rate, it is because they are mentally ill.

You're confusing trans and nonbinary people. Nonbinary people aren't the ones who have a 40% suicide rate. They also don't take drugs or undergo surgeries to affirm themselves. So using "they" pronouns doesn't necessarily mean that someone is mentally ill.

non binary doesn't exist, you are either male or female.

It is also used universally to describe someone who you do not know the pronouns of. This is proper grammar.

Exactly
