Our taxes are actually on the lower end of most developed countries. While we have a Personal Income Tax of 37% and a corporate tax of 21%, Japan, for example, has a PIT of 56% and a corporate tax of 31%, China has a PIT of 45% and a corporation tax of 25%, and in western Europe all countries have a higher PIT and most have higher corporate taxes and sales taxes than us.
