Dumbing down of America: In his book “The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark” (1995), Sagan described a dystopian America where critical thinking and scientific literacy were declining, and pseudoscience and superstition were on the rise.
Pseudoscience and superstition: Sagan was critical of unscientific and irrational thinking, and warned against the dangers of accepting unproven claims and myths as factual. He advocated for the use of critical thinking and the scientific method to evaluate evidence and separate fact from fiction.
The importance of science education: Sagan emphasized the need for a scientifically literate population, warning that a lack of understanding of science and technology would lead to a decline in critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Tyson thinks gender is a spectrum. Not because he ACTUALLY believes this (I doubt he does) but because he's an establishment shill, a celebrity, instead of just being the head of a planetarium and an astrophysicist, which is his actual job.
Carl Sagan would have something to say how far from scientific grace Tyson has fallen.
