The difference is that she is on the stump delivering canned speeches; but still the Mainstream Media is very careful NOT to pester her for any unscripted press sessions and especially NOT criticizing her for refusing to engage in any. They are all Dem Party loyalist 'reporters' and 'journalists' and their bosses all outright work for the Dem Party itself.
Since they essentially control what the bulk of the nation get for news, they control the bulk of the political narrative. They are simply refusing to pester Kamala for hard-ball interviews or hard-hitting press encounters while simultaneously telling the nation that she is the greatest thing since George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
