The cornucopia, often part of Thanksgiving displays in the U.S, comes from Greek mythology. Zeus had escaped from being devoured by Chronos, & was being raised in secret by nymphs. They fed Him the milk of the goat Amalthea. They also broke off her horn & made it into an inexhaustible source of food so that He could grow up strong enough to exact revenge.
