The first electric cars were quite popular. But that was back in the late 1800’s. Then gas and later diesel engines developed better tech that made them more efficient and easier to drive, especially for long distances, and also far more affordable, and a support system of filling stations made them a much better option. Meanwhile electric cars, generally, kept the same basic design and could not innovate to hold a charge or receive one faster. By the end of the 1930’s electric cars were no longer a viable means of transportation.
So when lefties and greenies say electric cars are the future and a sign of progress, they are actually taking us back.
