I have tested with an alt account. I believe based on the fact that I didn't gain any points from commenting on my own image with an alt account, commenting only gives the commenter points, not the poster. Upvoting gives 1 point to the upvoter and 40 points to the poster. Keep on commenting, you get points and you also help fight upvote begging. Just don't upvote them, downvoting also gives you a point but does not influence the poster's points, just lowers the ranking on the hot page.

So, Jehlo, if you dare stop commenting, I will find you and put a 5-ton block of subcritical uranium-235 in the basement of your house and then demon core it.
