Gosh, I never even heard of the thing. 



Although for a while I used to have a neighbor from Louisiana  who had also lived many years in Texas, etc, and one day on Thanksgiving, I saw him outside early, and was turning on one of those things to deep fry the Turkey. But it was early in the day, so I reckon it takes time for that thing to warm up.

Oil gets hot in 20 mins and does its thing in 45-60mins.  Way more efficient (think of wok) lol!!!



Most oil pots are LP gas (Hank Hill).  Although there is a new Gen of all sorts of outdoor kitchen Appliances being introduced almost monthly (not seasonly).



I saw a BOIL Pan at HD (looked like industrial braising pan I used at the country club i cooked at).  It had a mechanical dump, too.  Lol
