They/them having a dd214 means they/them is no longer sworn to the oath because they/them is no longer in the service.

You get a dd214 whether you got a hardship discharge after 6 months, served a single 2 or 4 year enlistment, or any number of years or retired after 30 years...no matter how you separate.

Hell, you even get one if you are dishonorably discharged.

Still the same piece of paper nobody in the civilian world cares about.

Besides, some patriots have to stay home to build the war machines.
