I think that the entire premise of drinking leftist Kool-Aid rests on never EVER independently thinking for oneself. So since the party line was 'Trump won't show up for the debate' belief in that assertion that took the form of religious doctrine. If it is not group-think approved then is is ideological and political anathema.
