Of course it was. EVs were never going to be for the "little people."

The infrastructure act is typical Bidenomics, loaded up with rules and regulations that make it impossible to get anything done quickly. They include "rate regulation, thumb on the scale for government-run networks, technology bias, union preferences plus many more problems.

So how many Americans have been wired for high-speed internet after 2.5 years.
$42.45 billion — that's three Ford-class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers — to deploy high-speed internet to millions of Americans who currently lack access. That mostly means rural folks, who are usually the last to get anything new, like drug-resistant herpes or imaginary personal pronouns.

Well, zero!!!... Not even one shovel's worth of dirt has been turned.

Speaking of military vehicles, how about the $ trillion dollars the US government has spent on the non-flying paperweight called the F-35?

Did they cost a $billion for each station? Will furture stations cost $13 million each, which is what the new stations will cost under Biden?

the Associated Press reported, “The Biden administration is awarding $623 million in grants to states, local governments and tribes to help build an electric vehicle charging network across the nation. Grants announced Thursday will fund 47 EV charging stations and related projects in 22 states and Puerto Rico.” That breaks down to $13,255,319.10 per station, if you ignore whatever constitutes “related projects” and assume all the money goes to the stations.

If you compare the price to install a gas pump, this is outrageously high:

Total average cost per pump:
Low estimate: $205,000
High estimate: $345,000

Stop apologizing for this crap.

What I’m trying to get across is they arnt done.

And again THEY MAYE REQUIRE UPDATES TO THE GRID ITSELF TO MAKE IT VIABLE.

because our electrical grid is just if not more dated then our highways.

Thanks for making my point.

Also gas stations don’t have 100-200 amps of electrify running through them they just need a tank in the ground for fuel to get dumped in.

An upgrade to the grid to make a charging station viable only makes the grid capable of handling more energy demand not just for ev users but for everyone. Less brown outs, and black outs from overheating and insulation failures or even just weather as demonstrated with the Texas grid failure both in a winter storm and summer.

Annnd you are telling us what we already know. Electric vehicle replacement of gas powerted cars will require a complete overhaul of our electrical grid. Something that the Biden admin fails to mention. What's the dollar cost to tax payers? Huh? A rough estimate would be $7 to $8 trillion. The US national debt is already $32 trillion. Each American citizen now owes $150,000. What's going to happen to the 130 million gas powered vehicles that they want off of the road in 8 years? What's the dollar amount for recycling those and the doubtless "buy back" prgrams? Yet another hidden cost. Possibly several trillion more dollars. But, keep apologizing for the new woke utopia that is the Biden administration.

They don't want them off the road, they just want to manufacture a certain amount. New cars. Manufacture. Not remove all other cars at once in 8 years.

Your a weak apologist. You have no clue what you're talking about. Explain to the boys and girls the logistics of removing over 130 million gas powered cars and replacing them with EVs in 8 years. Then, on top of that, explain how we're going to replace the power grid from using coal fired plants to solar and wind and THAT's going to bear the load of the added car charging. Go.

They can't... you'll just get the government-approved propaganda line...

You are correct. I'm not pulling this information out of my a$$.

Okay first off I have heard zero plans of “removing 130 million gas cars and replacing them with EVs.” Government has no plans to take someones dodge ram replace it with a new audi e tron and expect them to pay the difference or some shit. It’s just pushing manufacturers to make EVs instead of icbs or at least less of them.
Like instead of a new Kia soul for 2026 they come out with the Kia ev3 for 2026. (For about 35k 260 mile range.) and with the recent discovery of sodium phosphate ev batteries that will only get cheaper as salt is more than abundant in the world.

On to the replacing coal with renewables well that is something that can be done while overhauling our grid and the western part of the U.S. has already succeeded in using solar/wind/hydro and nuclear energy to power most of their grids. Even if it wasn’t eliminated completely an extreme reduction of coal would still be a plus.

We did have this thing that would have switched the grid to renewables called the green new deal but a bunch of scared twats were told it was the reincarnation of Stalin and came it with pitch forks because of lies saying it would ban cows/burgers. Didn’t help people like Manchin on the Democrat side torpedoed that idea but he has money in coal so to be expected.

I’ve owned a second gen ev for some time now it really isn’t that big of deal and 4th gen are even better as they have over double the range. Hell even for the most expensive station and time I’ve charged I’ve never paid more then 5 dollars at a lvl 3 public station. (Gas equivalent would be about 2.37-2.39 a gallon.) My 2015 i3 has had significantly less maintenance done then my Mazda 3 and was only 10k oh and no oil changes just one annual maintenance and a battery coolant change every 2 years.

Personally if I was gonna go about this myself I’d be overhauling the grid and focusing more on apartment complexes which could use more lvl 1-2 outdoor outlets since vehicles spend majority of their time at the residence or job and every ev comes with a granny cable (lvl 1.). Meaning those are the ideal places to set up for charging. I’d also be putting more focus on public transportation and cutting Tesla’s subsidies until they are no longer violating anti trust laws and are fully capable of charging non teslas.
