Conservatives back then didn’t want to go to war with Germany (hence the whole lend lease thing.) because they thought they could make money off the nazis while being sympathetic to white supremacy. America had its own nazi party beginning to grow here in the U.S. they even had a rally in Madison square garden. Along with thousands of camps styled after the young nazis in Germany.
